Ardmore Shooting Victim Sentenced for Gun Possession

Tyler James Allen, the 27-year-old Ardmore man who suffered serious injuries from a shooting during a Memorial Day disturbance in 2024, is now serving time in prison for illegal gun possession. After pleading guilty to the felony charge, he received a 5 to 10-year sentence in Montgomery County Court, where the judge highlighted the irony of both Allen and his attacker, Andrew McCutchen, being prohibited from possessing firearms at the time of the incident.

The shooting took place inside the Spencer Reid American Legion Post, resulting in multiple gunshot wounds for Allen. Surveillance footage revealed critical moments leading up to the disturbance, including evidence that Allen unlawfully possessed a firearm tucked in his waistband before being shot. This case raises significant concerns about gun violence and illegal possession, prompting a deeper look into the circumstances surrounding the tragic event and its aftermath.
