Eric Thomas Scionti, a 36-year-old resident of Tempe, Arizona, is sentenced to 47 months in prison for illegally possessing firearms and ammunition, as well as for his involvement in animal cruelty. Scionti’s criminal actions came to light following a federal investigation, during which agents seized six firearms and over 1,800 rounds of ammunition from his home, despite his prior felony convictions barring him from gun ownership.
The investigation revealed disturbing evidence, including approximately 168 videos and 89 photographs of Scionti torturing and mutilating pigeons, showcasing the extent of his crimes. After pleading guilty to the charges in October 2024, he now faces three years of supervised release upon completing his sentence. This case reflects the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to address both illegal gun possession and animal cruelty within the community.
