The Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating an armed robbery that occurred at a convenience store in Basile late on May 30th. Two suspects reportedly entered the store on the Basile Eunice Highway around 11:30 p.m., brandishing a firearm and demanding cash from the cashier.
Authorities describe the robbers as wearing distinctive clothing: one in a hooded sweatshirt with spiderweb graphics and grey pants, while the other wore a Nike sweatshirt and black pants. The assailants made off with cash and a cell phone, prompting law enforcement to urge the public to provide any information that could lead to an arrest, with a reward of up to $2,500 for useful tips.
