Two individuals were robbed and assaulted by a group of three to four male suspects at Tierra De Fortuna Park in Isla Vista on Tuesday night, according to the UC Santa Barbara Police Department (UCPD). The victims were approached by the armed suspects, one of whom brandished a black handgun while another threatened them with a knife, demanding their personal belongings.
The incident occurred around 6:44 p.m., leading to a frantic escape by the victims who managed to flee and report the crime. Law enforcement is actively investigating the case, as the suspects, described as wearing masks and hooded sweatshirts, remain unidentified. Community members are encouraged to report any information that could aid in the investigation.
