A shooting that occurred during an attempted armed robbery at an apartment complex in Ypsilanti Township has resulted in one fatality and one serious injury. The incident took place on Wednesday night in the 1300 block of Russell, where deputies found two men suffering from gunshot wounds upon arrival.
Authorities report that the confrontation involved individuals who were known to each other, raising questions about the circumstances leading to the violence. A 53-year-old man was hospitalized while a 41-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene, prompting an ongoing investigation by the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office. There are no ongoing threats to public safety.
