An 18-year-old man, Emmanual Campbell, has been arrested after a Snapchat meet-up to sell items turned into an armed robbery outside the Pepper Geddings Recreation Center in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Police responded to the scene following a report of an armed robbery, where the victim described how Campbell had contacted him through Snapchat to arrange the transaction. Instead of retrieving cash, Campbell allegedly brandished a firearm and stole the victim’s belongings.
During the investigation, Campbell admitted his intention to rob the victim at gunpoint. Following his arrest, he was charged with armed robbery and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, later released on a $7,500 bond. This incident raises concerns about safety during online transactions, highlighting the potential dangers of using social media platforms for buying and selling goods.
