Secretary of the Army Dan Driscoll recently visited Picatinny Arsenal, the Army’s Center of Excellence for Guns and Ammunition, to explore advancements aimed at improving military lethality. During the visit, Driscoll observed the demonstration of 6.8mm ammunition developed for the M7 Next Gen Squad Weapon, designed to enhance range, accuracy, and effectiveness for soldiers on the battlefield.
The visit also featured a live fire exercise showcasing the Purpose Built Attritable System (PBAS) and the Common Lethality Integration Kit, which streamlines the integration of unmanned aerial systems (UAS) with lethal payload capabilities. These innovations represent a significant leap in the Army’s operational readiness, emphasizing their commitment to adapting to modern combat needs.
