Authorities have arrested a second suspect, 18-year-old Tesfaye Shabi, in connection with a homicide that occurred during an armed robbery at Kearns High School on May 18. The incident escalated from a planned meet-up to sell champagne bottles, leading to a confrontation where shots were fired, resulting in the death of a 17-year-old victim.
Shabi, who was reportedly holding a .223 caliber firearm and later fired during the robbery, was apprehended after police linked him to the crime through eyewitness accounts and physical evidence at the scene. This arrest follows the booking of another suspect, Brandon Hollins, who allegedly shot the victim. The investigation continues as police seek to piece together the circumstances surrounding the tragic event.
