Eric Williams, a 37-year-old man already in custody for a bank robbery in Savannah, now faces multiple charges related to a separate home invasion that occurred on the same morning. Police report that Williams, implicated in stealing from the Bank of America on E. Victory Drive, has been charged with serious offenses including home invasion, two counts of aggravated assault, and kidnapping among others.
Officers responded to reports of the home invasion around 8:30 a.m. in the 1400 block of E. 40th St., where an armed robbery and auto theft also took place. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during these incidents, but the Savannah Police Department confirms that their investigation is ongoing, highlighting a concerning rise in violent crime in the area.
