A teenage suspect attempted to rob a coffee stand in Kennewick by crawling through the drive-thru window and brandishing a pistol at the barista. In an unexpected turn, the barista drew her own firearm and fired at the assailant, prompting him to flee the scene without serious injury.
The incident escalated early in the morning at the Wake Up Call coffee shop, where the barista’s quick thinking potentially prevented harm. The 17-year-old suspect, already wanted in connection to another robbery, was subsequently arrested and now faces multiple charges, including first-degree robbery and illegal possession of a firearm. His name has not been released, and he is being held at a juvenile center.
