An 18-year-old man from Belmont has been arrested following a police stop that uncovered a machine gun and several types of narcotics. Carron Patterson was apprehended on Friday as officers conducted a traffic check for illegal window tinting and expired registration, leading to the discovery of a Glock pistol equipped with a multi-burst trigger in a black backpack.
In addition to the firearm, police found scales and packaging materials indicative of drug sales, alongside psilocybin mushrooms, 17 oxycodone pills, and marijuana in the vehicle. The arrest highlights ongoing concerns about gun violence and drug-related offenses in the community, raising questions about the accessibility of such weapons and substances among young individuals.
