Bend police have arrested 36-year-old Nathaniel Benjamin Wright after a family member reported his intent to carry out a mass shooting. Officers monitored Wright’s home from a drone and observed him leaving in a ballistic vest while carrying an AR-15-style rifle, prompting an immediate intervention before he could leave the premises.
Authorities have not disclosed his potential targets or the details surrounding the family argument that led to these alarming threats. Following his arrest, police retrieved weapons from his home and vehicle, and secured an extreme risk protection order aimed at preventing him from accessing firearms in the future.
