In response to rising gun violence, Jacobie Williams has launched the Everybody W.E.N.S. program in Birmingham, aimed at guiding teenagers towards positive choices. After a tragic incident this summer, where a camp counselor was shot and killed, the program has intensified its focus on teaching youth the consequences of their actions and the importance of making safe decisions.
With a personal story of transformation from a former drug dealer to a mentor, Williams uses his experiences to connect with the teens and motivate them to change their mindsets. “If you capture your mind, you capture your life,” he emphasizes, a lesson that many participants, including those who previously struggled with isolation, say has profoundly impacted their lives.
