Blumenthal’s advocacy includes a nationwide ban on assault weapons and the passage of Ethan’s Law, which mandates safe storage of firearms. Currently, Connecticut boasts some of the strictest gun laws in the country. However, advocates are pushing for other states to follow suit, urging lawmakers to prioritize children’s safety in schools over the status quo of gun violence.
