This weekend, the Boulder Rotary Club, in collaboration with local partners, launches a gun safe giveaway aimed at promoting responsible firearm storage. The event, taking place outside the Boulder Community Health Foothills Hospital, will provide 500 gun safes and 300 cable locks to the first attendees, reinforcing the message that safe storage can help prevent accidental gun deaths and suicides.
Families can take home up to two items each, emphasizing Boulder Rotary’s commitment to community safety through proactive measures. This unique initiative also involves students from the Fairview High School Interact Club and local organizations such as the YMCA of Northern Colorado, showcasing a united effort to tackle gun safety in the community. No weapons are permitted at the event, fostering a safe environment for all participants.
