Bragg Looks to Continue Success in Second Term

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, fresh off a decisive re-election victory, expresses his intent to maintain the momentum from his first term. He highlights accomplishments such as a 65% decrease in shootings and nearly 50% reduction in homicides, emphasizing the continued importance of these issues. “We want to lean into the things that have worked very well,” Bragg states, as he targets ongoing initiatives in gun violence, sexual and domestic violence, and wage theft.

Bragg seeks to expand existing programs aimed at addressing crime through community engagement and mental health support, showing a commitment to innovative approaches in law enforcement. With over 70% of the vote behind him, he prepares to collaborate with the incoming administration to further enhance these strategies, underscoring the value of accountability and support for those affected by crime. “Being given the opportunity to do that for another four years is something I’m really honored to do,” he remarks.
