Police are searching for a masked gunman responsible for a series of five armed robberies that have struck Bronx businesses over the past two weeks. The spree began on August 4, with the gunman brandishing a black firearm and demanding cash from employees, who were held at gunpoint. Victims report losing thousands of dollars in cash and property across multiple precincts without any reported injuries.
Each robbery involves the same suspect, who escapes on foot after the crimes. Notable incidents include a robbery at 760 East Tremont Avenue where an employee handed over $200, and a more recent theft where the suspect stole a cash register worth $3,000 containing $300 in cash. Surveillance images of the assailant have been released, and authorities urge anyone with information to come forward.
