CHP Arrests Driver for Brandishing “Ghost Gun” in Oakland

California Highway Patrol officers arrest a driver for brandishing a loaded “ghost gun” during a road rage incident on northbound I-880 in Oakland. The confrontation escalated when the driver reportedly pointed a firearm at another motorist, prompting the victim to signal for police assistance shortly after the altercation.

Officers executed a high-risk stop near 16th Avenue and performed a thorough search of the suspect’s vehicle, initially finding no weapon. However, their determination paid off when they discovered the unserialized firearm, which the victim positively identified as the one used in the threatening encounter. The driver now faces charges including brandishing a firearm and other firearm-related offenses.
