The Youth Peace & Justice Foundation has added 18-year-old Kimber Mills to its “Trees For Peace” memorial, following her tragic passing after a shooting at a bonfire party in Pinson, Alabama. The foundation plans to plant a memorial tree in Talladega National Forest to remember Mills and other students lost to gun violence across the nation.
Daniel Chapin, the foundation’s founder, expresses hopes that this act will serve as a wake-up call to the community about the growing prevalence of senseless violence. Mills, a senior cheerleader at Cleveland High School, was remembered fondly by Blount County Schools, highlighting her promising potential and the profound grief felt by her family and community.
