Colorado Minority Whip Resigns for Gun Advocacy Role

Colorado House Minority Whip Ryan Armagost announces his resignation, effective September 1, to advocate for gun owners’ rights at a national level. This decision comes after a year marked by challenging legislation in Colorado, where new laws increasing restrictions on gun ownership have stirred debates among lawmakers and advocacy groups.

Armagost will join the board of a national Second Amendment advocacy organization and relocate his firearms training business to Arizona, stating that the choice follows both professional opportunities and personal developments. His departure opens a seat in House District 64, which Republicans expect to fill through a vacancy committee, ensuring continued representation in a predominantly GOP area.
