Kayla Dugan, 36, and Justin Shelton, 30, have been charged with multiple felonies for allegedly stealing more than 20 firearms from a residence in Macon County. Following a tip from the Macon County Sheriff’s Office, police executed a search warrant and discovered 14 stolen guns in Dugan’s residence and vehicle. Additionally, police found nine more guns hidden in a bag at Kiwanis Park, bringing the total number of recovered firearms to 23.
Both suspects are currently held at Boone County Jail without bond, and court dates are yet to be established. Dugan reportedly admitted to the theft and revealed details about where additional guns were hidden. This incident raises concerns about gun safety and illegal trafficking in the area, prompting local authorities to investigate the extent of the theft further.
