Columbus police have identified 34-year-old Jamal Jones as the victim of a deadly shooting that occurred early Monday morning in the Villages at Eden Crossing apartment complex. Officers responded to multiple reports of gunfire around 4:08 a.m. in the 1300 block of Fountain Lane, where they found Jones suffering from serious injuries.
Emergency medical personnel transported Jones to Mount Carmel East Hospital, where he was pronounced dead just 30 minutes later. As authorities continue to investigate the incident, no arrests have been made and no suspect details have been released. Police are urging anyone with information to come forward and assist in the case.
