The community of Aliquippa comes together to mourn Gevod Tyson, a 24-year-old anti-gun violence activist and youth sports coach who was tragically shot last week during a custody dispute. Hundreds of community members released balloons in his memory, chanting his catchphrase, “We all we got. We all we need. It’s AH what? Family,” emphasizing the impact he had on those around him.
Tyson, a 2019 graduate of Aliquippa High School, dedicated his life to mentoring youth and promoting peace, leaving behind a young daughter and a legacy that his father, Gerode Carry, vows to continue. Following Tyson’s death, the alleged shooter faces homicide charges, and community leaders emphasize the urgent need to stop gun violence, rallying for meaningful change in memory of a young man who “preached it till the day he left this earth.”
