Local authorities in Delano have arrested a couple after officers discovered a ghost gun and methamphetamine during a routine traffic stop on June 27, 2025. The driver, 34-year-old Luis Alverto Rojas, and passenger, 32-year-old Elisavet Avila Gamino, were apprehended following an operation focused on combating drug and gang activity in the area.
During the stop on Garces Highway, authorities allegedly located drug paraphernalia on Rojas and found suspected meth on the ground near his vehicle. A subsequent search revealed the presence of an unserialized handgun, commonly referred to as a “ghost gun,” leading to multiple charges against both individuals, including firearm-related offenses. Police urge anyone with further information to contact the Delano Police Department.
