Stefan Bagley, Jr., a 23-year-old from Stratford, Connecticut, is sentenced to seven years in federal prison for trafficking over 20 handguns, some sold illegally to prohibited individuals. During his illegal operation, which ran from October 2022 to October 2023, he purchased these firearms from licensed dealers and often altered them to avoid detection, including scratching off serial numbers.
In a troubling turn of events, one of the firearms he sold was connected to a shooting incident in Stamford, highlighting the serious implications of his actions. Bagley was also involved in a separate shooting in Bridgeport earlier in the summer of 2023. With only five of the trafficked firearms recovered to date, this case raises significant concerns about gun violence and illegal arms trafficking in the region.
