Danville Man Sentenced to 13 Years for Armed Robbery

Lamar Robinson, a former Danville resident, is sentenced to 13 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections for armed robbery, a class X felony. The robbery, which occurred on January 14, 2021, involved Robinson threatening an employee with a knife before fleeing the scene with cash, prompting a police response and a chase that ultimately led to his capture.

Video surveillance footage documented the harrowing incident, where Robinson not only brandished a weapon but also stabbed the victim during the robbery. The swift actions of local police and a vigilant citizen who alerted authorities were critical in preventing Robinson’s escape. Following his prison term, Robinson will face 18 months of mandatory supervised release.
