Emilio Freeman, 33, pleads guilty to charges stemming from a January armed robbery at a convenience store in Upper Darby, adding to his existing sentence of 4-8 years for a previous robbery in Philadelphia. The plea includes conspiracy to commit robbery and firearm offenses, while other charges were dismissed as part of a negotiated agreement. His co-defendant, Tyree Brown, 38, faces similar charges and is awaiting a status conference.
Police reports reveal that the robbery involved two armed suspects who made off with $500 and a box of lottery scratch-off tickets. Surveillance footage captured the robbers in distinctive clothing, leading to a vehicle pursuit that ended with Freeman’s arrest. Notably, he dropped a backpack full of stolen lottery tickets during the chase and was also found with a loaded handgun. Sentencing for Freeman is set for August 8, and it will run concurrently with his previous sentence.
