Delta County Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Bust and Arrests

Two men face multiple charges after the Delta County Sheriff’s Office conducts a traffic stop that reveals an illegal handgun and a substantial amount of illicit drugs. The incident occurred around 10:30 a.m. near the Island Resort and Casino, stemming from a routine check for defective equipment. In addition to the firearm, officers discovered approximately 197 grams of cocaine, 103 grams of suspected fentanyl, 101 grams of ecstasy, and various other controlled substances including ketamine and psilocybin mushrooms.

The search involved collaboration with the Hannahville Police Department and Michigan State Police, leading to the arrests of the male driver and a passenger, who have been lodged at the Delta County Correctional Facility. Notably, deputies seized over $13,000 in cash during the operation, prompting an investigation into the source of these funds and the extensive drug haul. As authorities continue to gather information, names have yet to be released pending arraignment.
