DOJ Launches New Section for Second Amendment Rights

The Department of Justice (DOJ) has announced the creation of a new Second Amendment section within its Civil Rights Division, aimed at bolstering gun rights enforcement across the United States. Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon emphasized that this initiative marks a pivotal shift, stating that the DOJ is committed to protecting the right to bear arms as an integral part of civil rights work.

In particular, Dhillon highlighted challenges faced by citizens, such as exorbitant concealed carry permit fees and long processing delays. With the DOJ poised to confront restrictive regulations in state and local courts, this new section aims to empower individuals, including vulnerable populations, to defend themselves more effectively. “Stay tuned,” Dhillon advises, promising “a lot more action” to protect Second Amendment rights in the near future.
