The incident initiated around 4 p.m. on Monday during a traffic stop at North Milwaukee Avenue, where the driver attempted to evade police and subsequently struck a marked police vehicle. Luckily, no injuries were reported, and police confirmed that no officers discharged their weapons during the altercation.
The driver, who eventually fled on foot after the collisions, was apprehended later in Portage Park, where officers recovered a firearm from the vehicle.
