Durham police have arrested 10 individuals and laid more than 112 criminal charges following a months-long undercover investigation known as “Project Venture.” This operation, initiated in November 2024, has unveiled a significant firearms and drug trafficking network that extends across the Durham Region, Toronto, and the Region of Waterloo.
During the investigation, authorities executed 19 search warrants and seized a total of 12 firearms, including eight handguns and two rifles, with some weapons connected to U.S. sources or reported stolen. Despite the scale of the operation, police confirm that two suspects remain at large while three of those arrested are still in custody, highlighting the ongoing challenges in curtailing such criminal activities in the region.
