Employee Thwarts Gun Sale to Convicted Felon

An attentive employee at a Blue Springs gun retailer prevents a man with a felony conviction from purchasing an AR-15, highlighting the importance of vigilance in firearm sales. Beau Albauer, 31, previously charged for driving into a Black Lives Matter protest crowd in 2020, was stopped after discrepancies in his identification raised suspicion among staff at the store.

During the attempted purchase, Albauer filled out the required ATF paperwork and falsely claimed he had no felony convictions. However, store employees conducted an internet search that revealed his criminal history, leading to his arrest for a fraudulent purchase of a firearm. Charged with violating Missouri laws, Albauer is currently held on a $35,000 bond and is set for a court appearance, showcasing the critical role of responsible retail practices in preventing gun sales to individuals with violent backgrounds.
