A Farmville man, Ronald Lynn Tripp, is sentenced to 17-30 months in prison after being found guilty of sex crimes involving a minor. The jury delivered its verdict on August 2, 2025, with the Pitt County District Attorney’s Office revealing that the investigation began when a child in Tripp’s care disclosed information about a sexual assault.
In addition to the prison sentence, Tripp, a convicted felon, faces three years of probation and must register as a sex offender upon his release. Investigators uncovered details of both the assault and Tripp’s possession of a firearm, which was found during a consent search of his home.
