Father and Son Sentenced for Illegal Firearms in Oklahoma

An Oklahoma City father and son, Nicois Megale Smith and Albert Smith Jr., are sentenced to seven years in prison for possessing a firearm illegally. Nicois, 40, faces additional supervised release following a felony conviction, while his 62-year-old father, Albert, pleaded guilty to similar charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm.

The pair’s legal troubles began when Oklahoma City police discovered a loaded pistol during an investigation at Nicois’ residence in May 2023. Both men have extensive criminal records that include various convictions for drug offenses and weapon-related charges, raising significant public safety concerns in their community.
