Firearms Deer Hunting Season Opens in Minnesota

This weekend marks the opening of the firearms deer hunting season in Minnesota, with over 475,000 hunters expected to participate. The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) urges hunters to secure their licenses in advance to avoid long lines and potential system delays associated with high sales volume, as the season begins on Saturday, November 3.

In addition to preparing for a successful hunt, the DNR reminds participants that shooting gray wolves is still illegal, despite their recent status change from endangered species. With 3,000 wolves now roaming northern and central Minnesota, conservation specialists emphasize the importance of responsible hunting practices to minimize conflicts as more hunters take to the woods.
