A Florida man, Juan Olascoaga, faces serious charges after allegedly confronting a homeless couple with an assault rifle and a bulldozer near his DeLand home. Witnesses reported that Olascoaga, accompanied by two men, threatened to “mow the camp down,” and during the altercation, he fired a shot into the ground, though no injuries were reported.
The incident stems from ongoing tensions between Olascoaga and the couple, who had been camping on land adjacent to his property. While Olascoaga claims self-defense, he was charged with two counts of aggravated assault and cocaine trafficking, later released on a $35,000 bond. Authorities have not yet identified his accomplices, adding an element of mystery to this unsettling confrontation.
