Fond du Lac Man Faces Charges after Rifle Discharge

Fond du Lac police are referring charges against a 42-year-old man following an accidental discharge of a rifle that caused damage to a neighbor’s home. Responding to a call reporting a loud noise and broken windows, officers discovered evidence of a projectile that originated from the man’s residence, prompting a safety investigation that included deploying a drone to ensure no one was harmed inside the suspect home.

The man subsequently admitted to the negligent discharge and is facing a misdemeanor charge for endangering safety with a dangerous weapon. Police emphasize that following fundamental gun safety rules is crucial to prevent similar incidents, as even minor negligence can lead to serious consequences.
