Fort Gregg-Adams Hosts After Action Review for Hunting Program

The Fort Gregg-Adams Environmental Management Division recently held its second After Action Review (AAR) for the post’s hunting program, focusing on assessing its successes and identifying areas for improvement. This gathering brought together military personnel, local hunters, and EMD staff to discuss feedback that could enhance the sustainability and safety of hunting practices on the installation.

During the last hunting season, participants harvested a total of 82 deer, highlighting the program’s impact on wildlife management and local ecology. The AAR also addressed future efforts, such as establishing a 50-yard safety buffer around an archery range to prevent conflicts with hunters. With a commitment to continuous improvement, the EMD plans to implement the review’s recommendations ahead of the next hunting season, furthering its mission of balancing recreational hunting with environmental stewardship.
