Fort Wayne Man Pleads Guilty in Parking Garage Robbery

Antonio M. Abul Husn, 22, pleads guilty but mentally ill to charges related to an armed robbery that occurred in a downtown Fort Wayne parking garage last year. The incident involved him holding a victim at knifepoint and resulted in injuries to both the victim and a police officer during the suspect’s apprehension.

If accepted by a judge, the plea deal would see Husn sentenced to serve between seven and ten years in prison, while additional charges of felony battery and misdemeanor resisting law enforcement would be dropped. This case raises important discussions about mental health considerations in the criminal justice system and the implications for sentencing in violent crime cases.
