The Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC) has initiated a federal lawsuit against Massachusetts, contesting the state’s ban that prohibits adults aged 18 to 20 from acquiring or carrying handguns and semiautomatic firearms. The lawsuit, titled Escher v. Noble, argues that this restriction violates the Second Amendment, as the complaint emphasizes that these individuals constitute “the people” and asserts that such firearms are historically recognized as “arms.”
FPC President Brandon Combs declares the organization’s commitment to dismantling age-based gun restrictions, echoing a belief that this lawsuit is part of a broader mission to protect individual liberties across the nation. The legal challenge is supported by significant partners, including the National Rifle Association and Gun Owners of America, highlighting a coalition effort against what they view as unconstitutional laws surrounding gun ownership.
