FSU Alumnus Debuts One-Man Show on Mental Health Issues

Micah Johnson, a Florida State University alumnus, is set to perform a poignant one-man show titled “On Sight,” focusing on mental health and youth gun violence. This exclusive sneak peek will take place at the Challenger Learning Center, coinciding with the 45th anniversary celebrations of FSU’s Phi Beta Sigma fraternity chapter, of which Johnson is a proud member.

Drawing from his own experiences growing up in a neighborhood marked by violence, Johnson emphasizes the necessity of addressing these critical issues through creative expression. The 55-minute performance promises to blend comedy, drama, and social commentary, aiming to connect with youths facing challenges similar to his own. With gun violence identified as the leading cause of death among disadvantaged youth, Johnson’s play seeks to inspire dialogue and understanding within the community.
