Legal counsel David Horning emphasizes that the college has limited authority to regulate concealed carry under state legislation, which primarily assigns such regulatory power to the Wyoming Legislature. With a final vote scheduled for June 18, the policy reflects extensive discussions with community colleges and aims to mirror the language used by the University of Wyoming, drawing interest amidst ongoing national dialogue about campus safety and gun rights.
