The situation escalated on July 22 when officers attempted to stop Davis for traffic violations, leading to a confrontation where he allegedly discharged a firearm and fled on foot.
Following a thorough investigation, Davis faces multiple charges, including assault on a law enforcement officer and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Additionally, he is linked to serious offenses from an unrelated incident in Kinston, where he is charged with attempted first-degree murder among other counts. Davis appeared in court for the first time on Tuesday.
