Goshen Man Pleads Guilty to Walmart Robbery Injuring Employee

A 20-year-old man from Goshen has pleaded guilty to a Level 3 felony robbery that left a teenage Walmart employee injured. Mario J. Cacahua, along with several accomplices, assaulted the 17-year-old employee while he was working on February 6, leading to significant injuries during the attack in the store’s aisle.

The victim, who was stocking shelves at the time, described being confronted by the assailants, despite declining to engage in a fight. Surveillance footage later revealed Cacahua exiting the store with the employee’s shoes, a central piece of evidence in the case. Sentencing for Cacahua is set for March 20, prompting concerns about safety in public retail environments.
