Grants Pass Man Charged with Drug Trafficking and Firearms

A 38-year-old Grants Pass resident, Christopher Smith, is facing federal charges related to drug trafficking and illegal firearm possession after his arrest last week. Smith made his first appearance in federal court following a police raid that revealed 400 grams of fentanyl, alongside multiple firearms, including ghost guns and an unmarked suppressor, all found in his trailer at his parents’ property.

Authorities confiscated an extensive arsenal of 74 additional firearms, raising significant concerns about public safety. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Oregon District confirmed the charges against Smith, emphasizing the seriousness of the drug trafficking allegations in the ongoing battle against the fentanyl crisis in the region.
