Gun Violence Disparities Among Connecticut Children

Recent data from Connecticut’s Child Fatality Review Panel highlights a troubling trend: children of color are significantly more likely to die from gun violence compared to their white peers. From 2021 to 2024, 26 out of 34 child firearm fatalities in the state involved Black or Hispanic youth who succumbed to homicide, while only one white child suffered a similar fate.
