A 17-year-old from Hilton faces several serious charges after allegedly robbing the Vape King store at gunpoint on May 22. According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, the teenager entered the shop with a firearm, demanding cash and merchandise before fleeing the scene. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident, but the shocking nature of the crime has raised alarms in the local community.
Law enforcement quickly initiated a thorough investigation, employing K-9 and drone units to search for the suspect while securing the area. Just one day after the robbery, authorities executed a search warrant at the suspect’s home, leading to his arrest. Charged with first-degree robbery, first-degree criminal use of a firearm, and petit larceny, the teen is currently held at the Monroe County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
