‘Hopeful Hampton’ Youth Violence Prevention Week Scheduled

‘Hopeful Hampton’ Youth Violence Prevention Week takes place from April 27-30, featuring a series of events dedicated to reducing gun violence and fostering community unity. Organized by the Hampton Youth Violence Prevention team, the week begins with “The Reunion of Hope” at Gosnold’s Hope Park, allowing participants to honor victims of gun violence by tying orange ribbons and engaging in community-building activities.

The following day, on April 28, the week includes a 7-on-7 football competition designed to showcase young talent while providing mentorship opportunities in partnership with local schools and the Tyrod Taylor Foundation. Special events like the Hope Fests for middle and high school students aim to empower youth with essential resources for success. These events emphasize the importance of community cooperation and resilience in the face of violence.
