Dr. Andrew Benedict, trauma medical director at the hospital, highlights the urgent need for secure firearm storage, noting that 30% of American children live in homes with firearms. Each free gun lock includes detailed instructions and a suicide awareness card, reinforcing the hospital’s commitment to addressing this critical public health issue.
