The Honolulu Police Department (HPD) is set to host a gun buyback event on August 15, a critical response to increasing violence in West Oahu. This initiative comes as part of ongoing efforts to enhance community safety and encourage responsible gun ownership.
Previously in August 2024, such buybacks successfully collected hundreds of firearms, demonstrating the community’s willingness to participate in measures aimed at reducing gun violence.
